The western arm of North Harbour is predominately rocky shore, together with a seawall across is western extremity. On the southern side of the arm are three small beaches (SH 10-12). The first is the narrow 100 m long northwest-facing Silver Beach (SH 10), which is a sliver of sand located at the base of rocky slopes, and crossed by two jetties and a slipway, together with rocks along the beach. Three hundred metre to the south is Forty Baskets Beach (SH 11), which faces northeast across the harbour to Manly Cove. A tidal pool occupies the northern half of the beach, with dinghies pulled up along the narrow southern half (Fig. 4.225). The entire beach is backed by a small grassy reserve and Norfolk Island pines, that extends north of the pool, with a barbeque and picnic area at the northern end. Access is via street parking on Beatty Street and a short walk to the beach. Reef Beach (SH 12) is a secluded but well known beach located in Sydney Harbour National Park on the northern end of Dobroyd Point. The beach is just 80 m long and faces northeast toward Manly Cove. The beach has to be accessed along a 500 m walking track from Beatty St. The track runs along a wooden walkway behind the beach, with two small sandstone promontories protruding onto the beach.
