Beach 311 runs from the Stansbury jetty for 900 m to the north, terminating amongst the 20 m high bluffs. For the most part if is a narrow sandy high tide beach, with width depending on the position of the bluffs. The southern 100 m of beach has built out into the gulf as sand has accumulated against the large jetty, car park and boat ramp facility. There is a reserve north of the jetty which provides the best spot for public recreation. The 300 m long jetty indicates the distance need to reach deep water off the beach. The boat ramp also extends to water deep enough for small boats and combined with the large car park make this a popular location for boating, with many boats moored off the main beach.
