Old Wharf Reserve and beach (BB 17) commences 100 m to the north and consists of a 300 m long narrow strip of sand at the base of steep rocky slopes. The Avalon Sailing Club house is located across the centre of the beach, with access down a winding road to the club. Parking is limited and the beach is mainly used as a temporary mooring for the sailing boats.
