Gordons Bay is located immediately south of Clovelly, with the best access from the Clovelly headland car park. The bay is wider at the entrance than Clovelly but the small 75 m long beach (NSW 325) is located deep at the rear and consequently well protected from most waves. The result is a steep, low energy sand and gravel reflective beach. However it is not a popular swimming beach owing to the difficult access and is primarily used as a fishing boat storage and launching site. It is a picturesque little bay with a paved walkway around the perimeter, and well worth the walk.

Swimming

Clovelly is usually calm so stay within your depth or use the pool. Beware of the seaward rocks and entrance to the bay, as these are treacherous.

Surfing

None in Clovelly Bay, but there is a rideable left break over the rocks outside the bay, and a rideable reef off the south side of Gordons Bay.

Fishing

The readily accessible and wide rock platforms either side of Clovelly are popular locations, with the beach itself offering protection in heavy conditions, while Gordons Bay is mainly used to launch fishing boats.
