A 130 m wide rock platforms separates Monument from Flat Rock Beach (NSW 457), which is a curving 260 m long sandy beach surrounded by the 50-150 m wide flat rock platform cut in soft 250 million-year-old shales and siltstone, with only a central 90 m long sandy section open to the sea. It lies at the base of the bluffs in front of the small North Bendalong settlement and can be reached down the slopes from car parks on both sides of the beach. The beach is moderately protected and usually has a shallow attached bar and rocks in the surf, with a single permanent rip draining out between the rocks.
Beach Length: 0.07km
