Huskisson-Vincentia (population 3500) is the main town for Jervis Bay and is located on 20 m high bluffs overlooking the mouth of Currambene Creek, the main anchorage for the bay. The bluffs and a foreshore reserve extend 1.5 km southeast to Tapalla Point, then south to Moona Creek, with two beaches in between (NSW 423 & 424). Shark Net beach (NSW 423) is a 170 m long strip of high tide sand wedged in at the base of the bluffs with low rocky shore to either end and only a 60 m long central section free of rocks, where the shark net used to be placed. The net is no longer maintained, since a rock pool was constructed on the northern rock platform. Tapalla Point and its blufftop caravan park separate it from Huskisson Beach (NSW 424), which curves south of the rocky point and rock flats for 750 m, to the rocks at the creek mouth. This is a reflective beach bordered by rocky points and reefs, which extend 1 km offshore. It is backed by vegetated slopes rising to a second caravan park, with a large park and picnic area between the southern end of the beach and creek mouth.
