Lagoon Beach (LH 10) is the main beach for the island. It is backed by the main island road, and many houses and guest houses lie back behind the beach hidden in amongst the thick tropical vegetation, together with most of the main commercial and administrative activities. The main Settlement lies just behind the northern end, with boat mooring, boat sheds and a few slipways occupying the next few hundred metres, followed by the yacht club. In addition there are picnic facilities at the north end and a playground in the centre, both located in a foreshore reserve that runs the length of the beach. The beach is a 1.7 km long beach commencing at the runway and trending northwest then curving slightly to the west to terminate against Signal Point. It is sheltered by the reefs and receives some low swell and wind waves that surge up the steep beach and provide relatively safe quiet swimming conditions but no surf.
Beach Length: 0.001km
