Beach commences on the southern side of the creek mouth. The northern section of the 1.8 km long beach is a dynamic migratory spit, which deflects the creek mouth up to 500 m to the north. The low grassy spit is littered with flotsam primarily from fishing boats and floats. The position of the mouth and consequently length of the spit change over time. The base of the spit attaches to the bedrock slopes where the beach turns and trends southeast, then east to the next headland as a crenulate rock-controlled beach. For most of its length it is fronted by 300 m wide ridged sand flats, with rock flats increasing toward the point, and patchy reef and seagrass offshore and then sand waves further out. There is a small community located 1.5 km up Cutter Creek, with vehicle access down to the back of the mangroves adjacent to the creek mouth.
