Following construction of the Mooloolaba harbour training walls in the 1960's, a small beach has accumulated on the point against the eastern wall. The 100 m long beach (1548) faces north and consists of a narrow strip of high tide sand, fronted by a continuous intertidal rock flat. It is backed by the grassy reserve on the point, with a walkway leading along the crest of the wall to the beach.

Swimming

This beach is only suitable for swimming at high tide during low wave conditions. At other times, the rocks make it a hazardous location.

Surfing

Point Cartwright used to be a classic right-hander prior to construction of the training walls. Today it is a shorter, heavier break ending at the breakwater; for experienced surfers only.

Fishing

A very popular spot for fishing off the breakwaters and beach.

General

A nice little beach for a walk or picnic in the reserve, but usually unsuitable for swimming.
