Immediately to the north is the 1 km long northern beach, a more crenulate high tide beach (545), also backed by beachfront houses, with 200 m wide tidal flats then the channel. It terminates at a low sandy foreland, beyond which is the 3.5 km long relatively straight beach (546) that runs up to the entrance to Fisherman Bay. It is developed at either end, with most of the beach backed by low foredunes, while 200 to 400 m wide tidal flats front the beach.
