A low rock-tipped foreland separates it from beach 1299. This beach initially faces southeast where it is straight and has 800 m wide sand flats, then turns to face east as it fronts crenulate 10 m high bluffs. It terminates 2.4 km to the south at Cape Beaufort where the tidal flats narrow to 50 m. There is a 4WD track along the back of the bluffs to the cape.
