The small settlement of Denial Bay is dominated by the central jetty, which extends across the shallow tidal flats 400 m into the bay (Fig. 4.179). To either side are the northern beach 1292, a slightly crenulate 1 km narrow high tide beach, the central 600 m long beach 1293 fronting the town and crossed by the jetty toward the northern end, while to the south beach 1294 faces east curving round for 1.2 km to a low calcarenite point. All three beaches have a few scattered mangroves and are fronted by tidal flats. On the south side of the point is a 1.2 km long curving beach and tidal flats, which terminates at some low bluffs. At the end of the bluffs is a point, beyond which is 400 m long beach 1295 which faces southeast across 800 m wide tidal flats. Scattered mangroves fringe the beach, while an oyster farm is located on the tidal flats, with the processing plant on the point. Finally on the north side of Matts Point is a curving 400 m long east facing beach (1296) fronted by similar tidal flats and backed by low dune-fronted bluffs.
