There are three 20 m high metasedimentary headlands located with 3.5 km of the western end of the beach, the western most headland called Point James. The three contain two exposed beaches between them, and capped by low vegetated clifftop dunes. 4WD tracks lead to each of the headlands. The first beach (1308) is a moderately steep 600 m beach receiving waves averaging less than 1.5 m, which maintain a beach and narrow bar, with rips usually restricted to either end against the rocks. Steep 20 m high vegetated bluffs back the beach, which occupies half of a 1 km long embayment, the western half of the shore comprising an irregular 50 m wide metasedimentary rock platform. A 4WD track reaches the bluffs above the centre of the beach with a steep sandy descent to the beach. The second beach (1309) is 1 km long and backed by some active dunes climbing over the bluffs. It receives slightly higher waves and has a wider surf zone, together with beachrock reefs in the surf, resulting in 5 to 6 rips along the beach. There is 4WD access to the eastern headland and the bluffs above the western end of the beach.
Beach Length: 0.6km
General Hazard Rating: 8/10
