South of Arno Bay the coast trends to the southwest from Cape Driver toward Port Neill. The 30 km of shore consists of a mixture of usually low Quaternary fluviatile bluffs, capped by southeast trending longitudinal dunes, now cleared for farmland, with rocks, reefs and rock flats dominating much of the intertidal zone. The Linclon Highway runs parallel to the coast about 3 km inland, with continuous farmland between the highway and coast, apart from public access at the Dutton River mouth. As a consequence most of this section, while backed by 4WD farm tracks is difficult to access and little used by the public. The first 5 km is occupied by eight bluff and reef dominated generally low energy beaches. Cape Driver is a low sand capped sedimentary headland, fronted by extensive intertidal rock flats and shallow reefs. Two beaches lie between the cape and Arno bay. Beach 642 is a 180 m long northeast facing high tide sand beach, fronted by 200 m wide rock flats, containing patches of sand. It is backed by unstable dunes that have blown over from beach 643.
