Beach 1070 is a protected, low wave 50 m west facing pocket of sand, backed by 10 m high calcarenite bluffs, and fronted by shallow reefs. The backing bluffs form the northern entrance to Venus Bay. The beach looks west along its neighbour 1.9 km long curving, south facing beach 1071, which is protected by extensive deeper offshore reefs, with waves averaging less than 1 m at the shore. The waves surge up the steep sandy beach face, and usually maintain up to 30 regularly spaced beach cusps. The beach is bordered by calcarenite capped headlands, and backed by 200 m to 600 m wide generally stable dunes which have blown up onto the backing calcarenite, and over into Venus Bay where the sand has been reworked to form low energy spits fringed by mangroves. The main 4WD track terminates at northern corner of the beach.
