Inside the bay at the centre of the town is a 500 m long sand foreland (1069), which protrudes out close to the deep tidal channel. The boat ramp is located at the northern end, and 100 m long curving jetty in the centre, with a foreshore reserve and caravan park backing the beach, then the town centre. Conditions are usually calm at the beach, however there are strong tidal currents off the jetty.
