American Beach (KI-43) lies 2 km northeast of the settlement and consists of a straight, 1.3 km long sand beach, fronted by a narrow bar, then seagrass meadows. It is bordered by low calcarenite bluffs in the west, by 50 m high sandstone bluffs in the east, and is backed by a 10 m high foredune, a grassy car park and the main Hog Bay Road.
