Beach KI-40 is directly in lee of the islet and is a 120 m pocket of sand lying between the sandy foreland formed in lee of the islet and the rocky bluffs fronting the northern side of the settlement. The beach is fronted by a 50 m wide mixture of sand and rock flats, and backed by a 10 to 15 m high foredune, then the settlement.
