At Cape Borda the coast turns 90o and heads east along the north coast of the island. For 50 km high cliffs dominate the shore, with only an occasional pocket or boulder beach lying at the base of the cliffs. The first four lie within 14 km of the cape, with only one being reasonably accessible while the other three lie at the base of high cliffs. Scott Cove (KI-146) is a 500 m wide indentation in the 80 m high cliffs, containing a 50 m long beach fronted by a mixture of boulders and sand. A car park and lookout overlook the beach, but there is no safe access down the cliffs.
