Kangaroo Gully creek flows through a cleared, V-shaped valley into a 200 m wide rocky cove, at the base of which is the main beach (KI-152) and a smaller beach tucked in amongst the western rocks (KI-151). The western beach is a 30 m pocket of sand encased in grassy slopes and rocks, that faces northeast and shares its surf zone with the main beach. The main beach is 110 m long and faces north. It receives waves averaging about 1 m which maintain a 60 m wide bar, with a permanent rip running out along the western rocks and past the western beach. Apart from the surrounding farm land and tracks, there is no public access.
