The main Snug Cove beach (KI-154) is a 170 m long, low energy sand beach that faces northwest, but which is located deep within the 200 m long cove with just an 80 m wide entrance (Fig. 5.29). Waves are usually less than 1 m at the beach, which has a narrow continuous bar, cut, however, by strips of dipping bedrock. The beach is serviced by a steep vehicle track that runs down to the rear of the small dunes behind the beach. A creek flows through the dunes and across the beach. The beach and backing valley are surrounded by private property and not open to the public.
Beach Length: 0.17km
