Point Tinline is a low, irregular jumble of rocks that extends 100 m to the east. On its south side is a 950 m long, curving beach (KI-76), that terminates at a 20 m high headland and is fronted by continuous reefs of varying depth. The reefs lower waves to about 0.5 m at the shore, where there is a continuous sandy beach fronted by deeper sand and reef. The beach is backed by a 5 to 10 m high foredune, in lee of which runs the bay road.
