Beach KI-123 is one of three high energy sandy beaches which share a common surf zone, but are separated by calcarenite bluffs. The first is a 450 m long, south facing beach bordered by 20 to 30 m high calcarenite bluffs. The eastern bluff is cliffed and fronted by a 30 m wide rock platform, while the western bluff barely reaches the shoreline. Two permanent rips are located at either end of the 300 m wide surf zone.
