Between the mouths of Middle River and King George River are 5 km of rocky, irregular, cliffed coast containing ten small boulder beaches and the solitary sandy King George Beach. The only public access is to the boulder beaches located 1 km west of the King George River mouth. The remainder are backed by a buffer of cliffs, then an approximately 100 m wide cliff-top strip of scrub, then cleared farmland. Beach KI-167 is an 80 m long pocket boulder beach located 200 m past the Middle River mouth and bounded by steeply dipping rock platforms.
