Castle Gully flows parallel to the coast and reaches the shore down a steep sided, vegetated valley. On either side of the valley are two boulder beaches. Four hundred metres to the west is a 200 m long boulder beach (KI-160) at the base of 100 m high cliffs, while 100 m to the east is a 60 m long boulder beach (KI-161), largely surrounded by protruding rock and rock reefs. A farm track leads to the rear of the beach.
