Two kilometres west of the river mouth is a 200 m long high tide sand beach (KI-66), fronted by a continuous, 50 m wide calcarenite rock platform and deeper reefs. Waves break over the reefs up to 200 m off the beach, with a large rip draining the surf. A 4WD track passes 100 m behind the beach and its backing dunes.
