To the north of point Avoid is a series of rock and reef controlled west to north facing beaches, all of which receive waves less than 1 m high at the shore. The first (840) is a curving 250 m long west facing, sand and beachrock beach, backed by 10 to 20 m high calcarenite bluffs, and fronted by 200 m of scattered reefs. It can be accessed from the point lookout and car park.
