Mullalong Beach (888) is the only readily accessible beach along this section of coast. A 4WD track leads to the rear of the foredune, where there is also a camping area. The 300 m long beach is bordered by 30 m to 40 m high calcarenite capped bedrock headlands and rugged rock platforms, together with rock reefs occupying much of the 50 m to 100 m wide surf zone. Waves a low in lee of the reefs resulting in a narrow ‘lagoon' between the reefs and steep shore. However permanent rips drain the ‘lagoon’ out though the reefs, so beware.
Beach Length: 0.3km
