Beach 939 begins amongst rock flats, which give way to sand flats half way along the 450 m long beach. To the north is 1.5 km long beach 940 the longest of the peninsula beaches. Sand moving south from Little Douglas is building the beach out in a series of elongate spits, impounding salt and samphire flats.
