Immediately north of the southern tip of the point is beach 987 a 100 m long sand beach fronted by 150 m of rocks and reefs. Its neighbour 988 is a 50 m pocket of sand also fronted by 150 m wide reefs and rocks. One hundred meters to the north is beach 989 a 60 m strip of sand in lee 50 m of shallow reefs.
