Beaches 996, 997 and 998 all lie with 1 km of the point. They faces west and are more exposed, with wave breaking across shallow reefs and rocks up to 200 m to 300 m off the beaches. Beach 997 and 998 are two 40 m long pockets of sand in semi-circular breeches in the bluffs. Both are fronted by the wider reef strewn surf zones.
