The first two beaches, while facing south and exposed to periodic high waves are moderately protected by West Point and inshore reefs, with wave averaging about 1 m. Beach 804 lies immediately west of the cape and is a 300 m long steep reflective beach, backed by dune covered 20 to 30 m high cliffs, with calcarenite rocks and reefs scattered along the shore. Its neighbour, beach 805 is 400 m long and protected by more extensive reefs extending up to 200 m off the beach (Fig. 4.131). It is backed by 50 to 70 m high cliffs. The Memory Bay track follows the clifftop above beach 805, however as a result of the cliffs access to both beaches requires a steep climb.
