Point Paterson is a very low beach rimmed tidal flats that protrudes into the gulf, narrowing the width of the gulf to just 4 km. The high tide beach is crenulate, discontinuous and in places replaced with mangroves. It consists of a southern1.6 km long section (561), and the 3.5 km section (562) that curves round the west facing point. Both are backed by high tide flats that flood each tide and there is no vehicle access. They are fronted by several hundred metre wide intertidal flats.
Beach Length: 3.4km
