None of these beaches are suitable for swimming, owing to either the presence of rocks, shallow sand, rock flats and tidal flats or the boating and shipping activities.
The Porter Bay training walls provide the best access to deeper water, as most of the large commercial jetties are not open to the public, while most of the shoreline is either too shallow or rocky.
