The protruding 18 km long Wood Point beach system (549) is a very low energy sand shoreline composed of up to 25 beach ridges, and fronted by 3 km wide sand flats, and backed by 2 to 5 km wide salt flats, with vehicle access to the point (Fig. 4.104).
