Streaky Bay township is built on sloping calcarenite with 10 m high bluffs along the north facing waterfront. Below the bluffs and town centre are two narrow low energy beaches, consisting of a mixture of sand and rocks and both partly covered by seawalls. The main Jetty beach (1171) is 200 m long, while the eastern beach 1172 is 150 m long. A 300 m long jetty across the main beach, with boats moored off the beach (Fig. 4.167).
