Two the east of Granite Rock the coast faces northwest and is more protected by the headlands and reefs. Beach 1142 is the longest of three beaches that lie immediately west of the 60 m high Dreadnoughts cliffs. It is a curving 1.2 km long beach backed by dune draped 20 m high bluffs, with a steep reflective beach usually receiving waves less than 1 m (Fig. 4.165). Some rock debris from the bluffs litters the beach. In amongst the Dreadnought cliffs are beaches 1143 and 1144, two 160 m and 80 m long pocket beaches, both bordered and backed by 50 m high cliffs and fronted by shallow reefs.
Beach Length: 1.2km
