On the tip of Speed Point is a straight 240 m long high tide sand beach (1132) fronted by a 100 m wide intertidal rock platform, with wave breaking heavily across the platform. Immediately in lee of the point is a 50 m long north facing pocket beach (1133), fronted by shallow reefs. The gravel road terminates on a low headland separating this beach from the curving, 900 m long beach 1134. There is a car park at the protected southern end of this beach, with waves increasing slightly along the beach, and reefs dominating off the northern end.
