On the south side of the point is the main Carrow Well beach (670) a 1.2 km long southeast facing more exposed beach. It not only receives slightly higher waves, but is also more exposed to the southerly winds which have blown active sand dunes up to 400 m inland, to heights of 25 m. It is bordered by low rocky points and when waves exceed 1 m several rips form along the beach and against the rocks.
