Beaches 1385 to 1391 occupy a southwest facing 5 km section of shore backed by 20 m high calcarenite bluffs, with all the beaches fronted by calcarenite intertidal platforms and some reefs, and all exposed to usually high southerly waves and winds. The clifftops are for the most part vegetated and stable permitting 4WD tracks to run along the top of the cliffs providing good access to the top of the beaches, with foot access down to the beaches only possible when sand ramps are present. Low scrub and sheep country backs the beaches with three fences terminating at the edge of the cliffs. Beach 1385 is a boulder covered 150 m long strip of high tide sand at the base of steep bluffs, with no foot access. It is fronted by a flat 50 m wide platform.
