Wandilla Bay is a small exposed beach located 7 km west of Cape Nuyts. West of the bay the coast continues on due west for 6 km, then turns to face southwest between Cabbots and Cheetima beaches. In between are eight generally small beaches, all backed by low calcarenite bluffs up to 20 m high, and fronted by scattered reefs. While high waves break on the reefs, the beaches are afforded varying degrees of protection. A gravel road provides vehicle access to Wandilla Bay, with 4WD tracks generally following the deflated blufftops providing access to all the other beaches. Wandilla Bay (1370) is a 300 m long south facing exposed beach, backed and bordered by low calcarenite bluffs, the eastern headland consisting on a narrow 300 m long calcarenite spur. The beach and swash zone is a mixture of sand and calcarenite outcrops, while in the surf zone strong rips run out either end of the bay (Fig. 4.192).
