Cape Nuyts is a 50 m high calcarenite headland, to the west of which is 5 km of irregular south facing 30 to 60 m high dune-capped calcarenite bluffs. The bluffs and the fronting reefs are exposed to high southerly swell, and most of the beaches that supplied the blufftop dunes have since been eroded. There are however five small and one longer beach tucked in small embayments along the base of the bluffs. Beach 1363 lies out on Cape Nuyts and is located in a 100 m wide amphitheater cut in the 40 m high bluffs. The curving 100 m long beach is partially protected by reefs extending across the 60 m wide mouth, however a strong rip also flows through the gap. The beach can only be accessed down the steep debris slopes.
