West of Scott Point the coast runs relatively straight for 4 km to the lee of a sea stack, called, Mexican Hat, then turns and trends south for 1.5 km to Cape Nuyts. The entire section is composed of 10 to 20 m high calcarenite bluffs backed by clifftop dunes. There are three small and one longer beach along the base of the bluffs, with vehicle tracks providing access along the top of the bluffs. Beach 1359 lies immediately west of Scott Point and is a bluff-bound 150 m long high tide beach fronted by shallow reefs, resulting in low waves at the shore.
