The Ocock Sandhills lie between Coroma Well and the bluffs at the end of the Dog Fence track (Fig. 4.196). These dunes extends for 7 km along the coast, up to 1.5 km inland and reach heights of 100 m. They are fronted by two high energy beaches. Beach 1407 is a 4.4 km long beach with calcarenite bluffs and reefs to either end. Its neighbour (1408) is a 1.9 km long continuation, which terminates at the more dominant Dog Fence bluffs. Reefs to either end induce three strong permanent rips in the inner surf zone.
