Beach 1420 is a protected 100 m long west facing high tide sand beach fronted by shallow reef flats, with bluffs and stacks forming the boundaries. Its 300 m long neighbour (1421) emerges from series of calcarenite outcrops to form a sandy beach, backed by a low foredune, and fronted by a deeper 50 m wide lagoon, lying in lee of a continuous beachrock reef. Calm conditions prevail in the lagoon at low tide.
