This is an exposed high energy beach consisting of a 3 km long section of reef controlled rips, then a 4 km section with an inner bar cut by rips spaced every 500 m, and finally a lower gradient 400 wide more dissipative surf zone at the head. It is backed by the widest active dune field on the Eyre Peninsula.
