Beach 581 is the largest beach system, and is located in a deeper embayment which it has partially filled with 20 beach ridges, and is now fronted by 800 m wide sand flats. At the western end of the beach, the bedrock shore trends south, and beach and 582 runs along the bedrock shore for 1 km, before giving way to bedrock. It consists of a high tide beach, fronted by rock flats then 300 m wide sand flats. Several shacks back the beach.
