The south east side of the point faces southwest, but remains protected by Wardang Island (4 km offshore) from the prevailing wind and waves. The first 3 km of shoreline consists of a crenulate high tide beach (483) fronted by a mixture of rock and tidal flats, that widen to 1 km in lee of Green Island, and link it to the mainland at low tide. A 300 m wide beach-foredune ridge plain has formed a cuspate foreland in lee of the Island. A vehicle track parallels the back of the shore and plain.
