Fromby Bay beach (432) begins immediately north of this beach, and runs for 6.5 km to 60 m high Daly Head, a dune and calcarenite capped bedrock headland and point. The west-southwest facing beach is one of the highest energy on the peninsula, and the 1.5 m high waves combine with the medium sand to produce a 200 wide rip dominated surf zone, with up to 20 strong rips along the beach. The beach is backed by a foredune, then up to 3.5 km of active and stable sand dunes. There is good access to the Daly Head car park, but a walk or 4WD required to access most of the beach.
Beach Length: 6.5km
General Hazard Rating: 6/10
