Between the end of the beach and Boat Harbour Point is 500 m of northwest–facing rocky shore consisting of a 50-100 m wide zone of rounded granite, cut by channels and gullies. Binalong Gulch occupies a larger gully, which has been modified by the construction of a 50 m long breakwater to form a small boat harbour and launching ramp. Some sand occupies other gullies, with beach T 90 occupying the largest area of sand on the eastern side of the point. It consists of an 80 m long high tide sandy beach fronted by a 100 m wide zone of rounded granite rocks and shallow tidal pools.
Swimming
Binalong Bay is a relatively safe beach under normal lower wave conditions. When waves are breaking across the bar, rips are usually present and care should be taken. There are some large rock pools, including beach T 90, on the point, which are an attractive and relatively safe location during calm seas.
Surfing
Usually a low shorebreak, with bigger swell required to produce rideable beach breaks.
